What is a Regional Center?

A regional center is a private or public company responsible for promoting economic growth, improving regional productivity, creating jobs, and increasing domestic capital investment. Regional Centers are designated by United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and must maintain their designation every year.

In order for a regional center to be designated and approved by the USCIS, it must demonstrate to the government that it is working toward the EB-5 program goals of helping the U.S. economy through foreign investment and job creation.  Essentially a Regional Center designation allows a company to work as a service provider for investors and developers that want to use EB-5 capital in their projects.

Regional Center Investment Benefits

Regional Center EB-5 Investment option is great if you do not want to be involved in the project or be actively managing the business.

One of the most notable and main benefits of the Regional Center investment option is the job creation requirements. Projects under a Regional Center sponsorship can count both Direct and Indirect jobs.

Indirect Jobs

Also, projects under a Regional Center sponsorship can structure the investments to be a loan model, and therefore, you (the investor) can be become a lienholder and loan your capital to the project.
